Staff Morale Booster: “Tell Me Some Good News!”

As a practice owner, you can get swamped with problem, problem, problem. This can happen so often that you expect it and go searching for problems in your business. This can be exhausting.

Try this: Walk through your organization and ask each staff member: “Tell me some good news.”

This is NOT an easy exercise if you are routinely receiving problems that it seems only you can solve.

When your staff member answers, it is important that you acknowledge him or her appropriately. Hold back any urge to criticize their good news, under-acknowledge their good news and they follow up asking for their problems.

Here it is, plain and simple:
1. ASK FOR THE GOOD NEWS.
2. ACKNOWLEDGE APPROXIMATELY.
3. WATCH YOUR STAFF AND YOU OWN MORALE SOAR.

Let me know what happens.
